Groundbreaking for Construction of an Ultra-Modern Market in Thogoto
Hon. Alice Ng’ang’a joined us as our guest of honor as we broke ground for the construction of an ultra-modern market in Thogoto shopping Centre. The market is being constructed along with three others in Kikuyu, Kinoo, Gikambura and Kerwa respectively by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development under the Economic Stimulus Program and will comprise the following amenities;
i.) A 2-storey market structure, to house the traders.
ii.) Proprietary stalls for the traders.
iii.) A Cold storage room.
iv.) A Dry storage room.
v.) A Mother’s Room where mothers can nurse their young ones.
vi.) An ICT Hub.
vii.) A Hot Kitchen with adjacent food court space.
viii.) A Social Hall/ Meeting Room.
ix.) Office spaces for Market Administration and Saccos.
x.) A detached ablution block with Ladies and Gents WCs, showers, a pay point and a store.
xi.) A Waste collection cubicle.
This infrastructure will facilitate seamless conductance of business in a healthy and productive environment, provide spaces for our people to hold meetings and grant our youth the opportunity to learn how to leverage the vast and diverse working opportunities on the internet to earn a living in the ICT hubs.
