Development and Delivery
On 08 Oct 2020, we continued delivering the last batches of the 1,000 lockers for schools from Kikuyu Constituency NGCDF ,with today’s batch going to Mai ai ihii primary school, and another batch for Riu Nderi Primary will be delivered on Monday. We have also delivered laboratory stools to Kerwa and Nachu Secondary schools and more lockers to Nachu Secondary,Karai day high school,Thirime Primary, HGM Kinoo Primary,Gatune Primary,Wambaa Primary, Kerwa Secondary and Primary schools, Nguriunditu Nditu Primary,Nachu primary and Kanyiha primary. This will ensure our children open to a good learning environment with adequate social distancing and personal spaces. The program continues to ensure every child in our public schools enjoys the same facilities as those in private academies.
Meanwhile the World-Bank Funded KUSP program that will see the upgrade to tarmac of roads at Gikambura shopping center access from Musa, Nderi-Kikuyu road and the Wamakima Regen road are ongoing in line with the world bank guidelines on project implementation. And in the 2020/21 budget that was my last budget as Chairman,we also appropriated more funds under this program to implement the upgrade to Bitumen standard/tarmac of more roads across the constituency including Kidifarmaco estate in Kikuyu ward.Yesterday the National Assembly passed this 2020/21 budget’s County Allocation Act that will now transfer funds to enable some of these roads procurement to commence.
Dagoretti market roads will soon start under the Ministry of Housing’s Urban Development department.
Our KERRA program roads continues with the rehabilitation of Kanduma- Kerwa Catholic road to Chege Mbitiru road, and works will soon start on others in Thamanda area in Sigona ward,as well as the Riunderi-Kamumbus-Karie road in Karai/Nachu wards,Greengardens Comet Wanaruona road, Kanyethi-Mai ai ihii pcea road,Gatune Mbomboini road amongst others.
