On 6th April 2018 We joined the Deputy President at Murang’a high school and Kirinyaga, our Constituency team plus the Subcounty Security Committee was at hand to receive the Parliamentary Security Committee Chairman Hon Koinange on a tour of security facilities around the Constituency. From 7th to 14th March 2018 we held vetting for bursary applicants at various vetting centres across all wards. Our Constituency office staff, CDF office and the Kikuyu, Kinoo, Sigona, Karai and Nachu wards community bursary committee members braved chilly days to get through this rigorous exercise to vet over 4,000 applicants from all wards. On 9th March, we held a consultative meeting with the head teacher & B.O.M Nachu Secondary school, principal Nachu Technical Vocational Center and CCCC representatives as we discussed CSR projects within the two institutions and across Nachu ward. Thereafter we had a groundbreaking ceremony for four new classrooms to be constructed at Nachu High school, expanding it to a double streamed day secondary school, sponsored by the national CDF board
On 30th January 2018, We visited CDF funded projects in Kinoo ward in a monitoring and evaluation exercise. We are working on fast tracking the completion of the ongoing project at HGM primary and also looking into upcoming projects which we plan to embark on at Kinoo police post, Mama Ngina Primary and the new mama Ngina Snr secondary school. During the financial years 2014/2015 this project was allocated Kshs. 1,500,000 for construction of AP quarters and an additional of Kshs. 250,000 from 2015/2016 budget for Fencing of the police post. The work is complete and the staff houses are ready for occupation.
Mama Ngina Primary School pit latrines had been condemned by the health officer leaving pupils with no enough toilet facilities. In the financial year 2014/2015 the school was allocated Ksh 1,000,000 from the emergency kit to build a new ablution block.
In the financial year 2014/2015 CDF allocated KES 1,500,000 for completion of storied classes- First floor (Walling, flooring and roofing). Work is complete.
During the financial year 2013/2014 Gichecheni was allocated Kshs 1,217,027 for construction of a police post.
