Due to the growing intake of student in Muhu Secondary School there was a dire need of a bigger kitchen to cater for lunch and tea for students. This project was fully funded by the CDF and was allocated KSH 2,000,000 in the financial year 2012/2013. Muhu kitchen is now complete and in use.
During the financial year 2013/2014 CDF allocated 1,500,000 for construction of two classrooms. Classrooms are now complete and in use. The board members and parents noted that the classrooms were well constructed.
Year 2013/2014 KES 1,500,000 was allocated to fund the construction of a resource centre. The school however felt the need to convert the building to a dormitory which is now complete and occupied by the form ones.
It is one of the main roads that leads to the interior sections of Kikuyu.Being in a bad state ,it was a huge impediment to the economic activities especially when it rained.Financial year 2012/2013 KES 597,894 was allocated for murraming, spot gravelling, drainage and grading of the road.
Kidfarmaco Main Road is one of the Major roads leading to Kikuyu Ward interior sector.The dilapidated condition of the road was making it hard for the members of the society to conduct their economic activities.CDF intervened to help improve the condition of the roads and through a proposal the matter was discussed and approved. In the financial year 2012/2013 KES 500,000 was allocated and disbursed for the renovation of staffs quarter that is painting and re-roofing.Work is complete.
Kikuyu Township is a boarding and day primary school located at the heart of Kikuyu town. Due to the increasing number of pupils who board they were short of space and they approached CDF for funding. In the Financial year 2012/2013 KES 1,000,000 and 2013/2014 KES 2,000,000 was apportioned for the construction of the second floor of the dormitory.
